A family and other residents from Shelley in Idaho have expressed concerns over finding what looks to be hazardous waste near the backyards of their homes. The have made claims that the man that owns and rents out the land is using it to dispose of hazardous waste, whilst at the same time putting all of their lives in danger.
The land is owned by Neil Bruce Allen, owner of T-D-A environmental group of Idaho Falls, and residents claim that he is dumping asbestos and other toxic material on the land, which is practically next to their back yards. The residents have now sought assistance from the county as well as from the Environmental Protection Agency.
An upset family member, Karen Peterson, stated: "The Bingham county fella came out to look at that, and he was very concerned. He said that's something that's dangerous and should not be and wanted to take care of and it's against the law."
However, the owner of the land against whom the allegations have been made, Neil Bruce Allen, stated that he’s only using the land to store old and unused equipment, and that the family and residents are simply trying to exploit his business.
