Two democrats stated last week that the cover-up of contamination following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York have been proven by a judge’s decision to allow a class action lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency. The democrats state that not only did the Bush Administration cover up the issues relating to asbestos contamination and contamination through other pollutants, but the area was never properly decontaminated following the disaster.
The democrats stated that part of the reason for the cover up was to keep the economy going due to many financial firms and the New York Stock Exchange being in the area. One of the democrats stated: “Initially it was probably an economic decision. Get Wall Street running, get the economy going immediately, and if the people of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn have to be casualties, so be it.”
It is claimed that the EPA lied about the air quality in the area just days after the terrorist attacks. This is why the lawsuit was filed against the agency, after many people fell ill and some people developed fatal diseases following the incident.
The democrats stated that it was obvious from the start that the EPA was lying about the situation with the air quality, and that some of the federal officers involved should be brought up on criminal charges.
